L'etimologia del suo nome deriva dal latino “vertere” (“volgere”) e sta a significare “il punto più alto”. Vertis è la massima espressione del vitigno di appartenenza: ottenuto da uve provenienti dai vigneti più longevi, di circa vent’anni e con esposizione a sud, è un vino con due anni di evoluzione e caratteristiche che permettono di riconoscere in maniera inconfondibile il Verdicchio di Matelica.
